ACTION ALERT:
It's go time in Atlantic Beach! After being
stalled for nearly a year, next Monday, July 14 at 6:30pm, the Atlantic
Beach City Commission will vote on a nondiscrimination ordinance for the
first time. WE ANTICIPATE A VERY CLOSE VOTE AND NEED A SHOW OF
STRENGTH.

Commissioner
Maria Mark and Mayor Carolyn Woods have been standout champions
bringing this issue forward after months of delays. Monday's vote in
Atlantic Beach is critical for all of Duval County, because if passed,
it would be the first city in Duval County to protect the LGBT community
from discrimination. In the days leading up to the vote, we want
commissioners to hear from pro-equality supporters like you.
Three things you can do to help:
1) Send an e-mail to the commissioners to let them know you support the nondiscrimination ordinance by clicking here: http://eqfl.convio.net/site/R?i=k2XMw0r0uldW_ymXMunU3A
2)
Attend the meeting next Monday, July 14th! Pro-equality supporters have
been attending commission meetings for months asking the city
commissioners to take a vote on this issue. We need you to show up again
on Monday night because a vote will take place. Wear your best red
shirt to show your support for the nondiscrimination ordinance, and make
sure to get there early so you can get a seat! Address: Atlantic Beach
City Hall, 800 Seminole Rd.
3) Volunteer: Now is the perfect time to build our grassroots efforts! Sign up to volunteer by clicking here: http://eqfl.convio.net/site/R?i=1D5JX5Ckf5AvXlgdEwVB2Q
